What you feed your dog out of says a lot about you and your dog. Dog bowls can come in plastic, ceramic or stainless steel. Stainless steel and plastic dog bowls are more robust and you can't break them if you drop them accidentally but they have the disadvantage of being "chewable" - so prepare yourself to replace plenty when your puppy goes through that chewing phase! They also have that unfortunate ability to scoot around the room as your dog eats from the dog bowl which isn't a problem with the ceramic food bowls as they tend to be heavier. The other advantage of ceramic bowls is that you can often put them in the microwave to warm puppy's food up if necessary.
